Biking: Two Rivers - Deben to Orwell Wind Direction: Wind Stength: Surf / Sea State: Air Temperature: Sea Temperature: Weather: sunny periods Max Speed: 23.53 (knots - unless stated otherwise) Distance Covered: 13 miles (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise) Monday 8th October - bike**** Two rivers, Orwell to the Deben – sunny periods. After a lovely weekend celebrating my 65th Birthday (where did those years go!!!) with family and friends including the wonderful Grandson Arlo it was a bit quiet today. Nice start, exercises in the garden, then I pack a salad and we head out on the bikes with the sun making a welcome appearance:) It was a bit of a headwind as we started off, nearly enough for a windsurf but with lots of wind forecast for later in the week I gave it a miss today. A bit of a different route as we biked through Langer Park and then down to the dock viewing point. The highlight being watching starling franticly washing in a puddle:) On through Landguard nature reserve we sat on the beach to eat our picnic. I even found a few pieces of coal but it has been a poor year so we set off towards home along the prom. At the pier Mag heads for home while I continue to the end of the prom, carry my bike up the steps at Jacobs Ladder ending up at Felixstowe Ferry where I stop to take a few pics. I see a several waders in the mud plus an Egret catching loads of small fish! Then back across the golf course turning into Ferry Road, The Grove and home. Out 2hours covering 13 miles and fingers crossed for a few days windsurfing later in the week!!! Photo Gallery Here |
